The graphic below is also a great resource in case of emergency. Print it and put it on your fridge, or save it to your phone for quick reference. However, for cats as well as dog breeds with barrel or keel-shaped chests such as bulldogs or greyhounds, make sure to check out the CPR instruction links above for diagrams on how to correctly position your hands.

IMPORTANT: Please note that you should NEVER practice CPR on an animal that is not in crisis, as it can cause severe injuries. It should only be done in the event of an emergency. Make sure all members of your household know this, including children.

Although as pet parents we all hope we'll never need to worry about it, knowing how to perform CPR on your pet can help give you confidence that you'll know what to do in the event of an emergency.
